The Holiday Season has begun! Soon time to twinkle up the tree and fill the kitchen with cookie perfumes. I've always loved Christmas, I know it's not everyone's thing. For me it's a season of love and beauty. I don't get too wrapped up in the commercialism of it all or protest against that. It is what it is and with or without all that it still remains a season of community connection and beauty for me. When I lived in NYC, the entire vibe of the city changed. I love snow and eggnog or "eggnuts" as Pascal calls it. This year is a bit tuff without my Dad for the first time. He also loved Christmas. Let the tears fall as they will he'd never want to be the cause of a Grinchy Christmas. Between re-learning our Holiday Blues songs and attempting to write a new one, we'll be heading into the studio for the final mix of "Why Don't You Do Right", a duet with Lauren Tucker with Pascal on gitjo, Bobby Floyd on piano and The Governor on bongos. We all had a great time filming a music video for "Why Don't You Do Right". This was a community project filmed at Java Central and featuring VIPs dressed to the nines with Arie Shively taking a cool photo and Bill Jingo adding his professional video skills. Thanks to all of you who came out to be a part of it.
